When our team members at IQTalent Partners collaborate effectively with our clients, we create a special sort of magic where the right candidate seems to appear almost instantly. Most recently, IQTP Engagement Leader Lindsay Bogue joined forces with Pie Insurance to find their first Director of Sales and even a March winter storm -- the now famous “bomb cyclone” -- couldn’t stop her from completing her mission. This is a seriously powerful partnership resulting in finding an outstanding candidate.
Launched in 2017, Pie Insurance offers workers’ compensation insurance for small businesses through an easy-to-use website. The company is revolutionizing the way small businesses buy insurance by simplifying the process and saving small businesses up to 30%. As Pie has experienced high growth over the past year, they’ve aligned with IQTalent Partners to fill more than 20 new positions.
Check out how @IQTalent goes above and beyond to find outstanding #candidates for their clients. #PowerfulPartnershipsClick to TweetIQTalent Partners augments Pie Insurance’s in-house HR and talent acquisition team to assist in candidate research, sourcing, and recruiting. Pie’s search for a Director of Sales was initiated in-house, using their internal recruiting processes and resources. For nearly three months, they had accumulated an extensive collection of inbound candidates whose applications came directly from the Pie Insurance career page. Feeling frustrated with the quality of candidates their inbound search was providing, the Pie team asked IQTP to add the Director of Sales position to their list of hiring needs.
Experienced IQTP Engagement Leader Lindsay Bogue took over the search and immediately prioritized the inbound candidates the company had already received. In lieu of restarting the search from scratch, she segmented these candidates into categories based on experience and fit. Lindsay “read between the lines” of the resumes, conducted additional candidate research, and began phone screens of the top candidates. Within a week, she found an excellent candidate who previously had been overlooked by Pie’s internal recruiting team. Lindsay asked him the right questions on his phone screen and even consulted with the candidate about ways to improve his resume to be more attractive to any hiring manager.
After the initial phone screen and phone interview with Pie’s CEO, the candidate’s on-site interview was scheduled within two weeks. The date of his on-site interview coincided with Denver’s “Bomb Cyclone” snowstorm, and the candidate was stuck on the interstate for more than 4 hours traveling to the Pie office! Going above and beyond in offering the best candidate experience she could, Lindsay stayed on the phone with the candidate throughout the storm, continuously updating both the candidate and her client about the situation. Ultimately, she rescheduled the on-site interview for the candidate the following day. The on-site interview proved to be a smashing success. After meeting the Pie Insurance team and spending more than five hours in their office, the candidate was given an offer before he returned to his car! His first call upon leaving the interview? To Lindsay to share his excitement and to thank her for her diligence and effectiveness throughout his entire process.
